Miami training

So once again I have been accused of being very lax on updating my blog, my training log, and everything else it is I am supposed to do. So I am streamlining things a bit. There is now a link on my blog site (look over to the right) for my training log. If you click on that you should be able to see what I am up to each week training wise. So on this blog I will just wax poetic about the last week.

I just got back from AABB in Miami (my big US meeting for work). There was a lot of work, a lot of eating, and a lot of drinking going on! So I am back on my diet, trying to detox for a day or two, and really looking forward to my weekend off (worked straight through last weekend so I am on 14 days of work). But I did manage to have a little fun while there catching up with my favorite customers and getting to know my new colleagues even better.

So I now vow to update my blog at least once a week and I will try to keep my training log up daily. So check back frequently!!!

Iron Mariah reports from Iron Team, Week 1

In case you don't already know (which means you didn't get my e-mail asking for money) I have joined TNT's Iron Team to train for Ironman Canada in Aug 2007. We had our kick off on Sun Oct 8, got our calendars and so I have now completed my first week of training. It is going Ok so far. I am getting back in the habit of 6 days a week workouts (or trying, I only made 5 this week). I am also trying to fit in my marathon training. I finally feel like that is going right and I am on a good schedule for that. I am using a new site to track my workouts (workoutlog.com). But the public link doesn't seem to be working yet, but I will get it figured out. Since I just finished filling that all out I don't want to do it again, so here is the quick update.

Sun Oct 15:
Swim drills and 15 min marker set (1 hr)
Strength training and run drills (1 hr)
30 min easy run

Sat Oct 14:
Long run, 16 miles!!! Furthest I have run to date. Felt pretty good and kept a steady pace. Trying to slow down a bit to get to Dad's pace for the marathon. Was able to do the full 16, no stopping, avg pace 10:16/mile.

Fri-Mon:
Some running, weights, and stretching

Total for week 1:
Weights = 2 hrs
Swim = 1 hr
Run = 28.1 miles (4 hrs 37 min)
