True test of endurance
After not one, but two nights out on the town with my favorite group of triathletes, I was a bit apprehensive about this morning's run. Lack of sleep and more than a few pints of Guinness were on my mind as I struggled to get myself out of bed. But the sun was out for the first time in weeks (at least it felt like it). And once moving I was looking forward to the run. Mike had asked me to sweep Pro, as he didn’t think he could make the two laps (recovering from injury). This sounded goood as it would force me to do the full two laps, but I could take it easy. I took it easy for half of the first lap, then started to feel my stride, feel good, and was enjoying the bright morning sun and the lake view. At the water stop I hooked up with Peggy and Jill and met our new participant Roman. We headed off in good spirits on the second lap. I convinced Jill to do the whole thing and we had a nice time running together and chatting a bit. As I am sagging the bike tomorrow so will not get as big a workout then, I start to think about a third lap. I know I am crazy but I feel guilty about missing the bike tomorrow and knowing I won’t ride after our workout as I have plans in the afternoon. So when I finish lap two and am still feeling pretty good I head off for lap three. Philip (my carpool) is not doing a third so I agree to take the bridge shortcut. I thought this would cut the route in half. Turns out it cuts off less than one mile. So he had to wait a bit long for me, for which I felt bad. But I ran about 13 miles for which I feel GREAT!!! Well exhilaration wise, now I am tired. I was starving when I got home, chowed down, and after a nice hot shower took a nice long nap. Now I am ready to do it all again tomorrow!!!
Run = 13 miles
