Swim marker set + run

Ah the dreaded swim marker set where we see how much work I have to do this season. Today was a few minute warm up, some drills, and finally the 12 min lap swim. We count how many laps we are able to do in that time. I pulled my journal from my first season where I was only able to do 13. Today I was able to do 20. Much better than before, still not fabulous but passable. I tried not to focus on those who can do 30 and concentrate on the fact that I have improved quite a bit.

Then later in the afternoon I went for an easy run (still preparing for that 1/2 marathon). Today I did about 5 miles at a more relaxed pace. Now I am definitely tired. But certainly earned my stint on the couch with a beer to watch the game (more so the commercials).

Swim = .50 miles
Run = 5 miles
