Run marker set at Kezar

Ah, back to Kezar stadium, the coldest place in SF. Of course tonight it was beautiful. Clear (we could actually see the moon), warmish, perfect for our first track workout and run marker set. I was feeling good in the warm up (3/4 mile), but I was a little worried. I have been doing low impact cardio lately (which means running slow), and I really wanted to be around the level I finished the season last year. So my goal for the 2 mile marker set was less than 17 min. After the first mile I was at 8:26 so I knew I needed to pick it up a bit. All went well in the last mile, I felt great and finished in 16:29! Can I hear a woo hoo! Now I am felling more confident about starting this season and about my race next weekend. Of course this also means the bar is high and I have to improve from here. But I know I can do it! I finished up with a mile cool down, well it was supposed to be cool down but I ran with Fernando and we were kind of pushing each other and were only a little slower than our marker set. Finally to celebrate a large group from the team piled into the Kezar pub for a beer (carbo loading) and a chat. It was great fun!!

Run = 3.75 miles
